Our Farm
Ashmit Saha - Class VII
Our farm is located at Romagachi village in Madhymgram. Farm has 7 acres of land where our 8 Gir cows from Gujarat graze. You can recognise a Gir cow
by its rounded and domed forehead and long pendulous ear; they are hardy and love to be with human. Gir cow is one of our native breeds and produces A2 milk which has many health benefits that is why I love to drink this milk.
My father has planted Sandalwood , Mango trees and various Grasses and
herbs like Jinjua, Shatabari, Ashwagandha and Brahmi for our cows. Samrat is
the name of our Bull and my favourite too, because of his friendly nature he is loved by all. Others are named as Nandini, Jojo, Kali, Rani, Jamuna, Gopal and the smallest one is Ganga, she is the cuddliest one of all and always gets
special treat from my Sister.
There is also a pond where there are lots of fishes in it. There are 3 chickens
also at the farm. Whenever we go to the farm we always make “Rotis” for
the cows and they love it very much. There are 2 labours who look after
them very well.
Our cows are treated with homeopathy and ayurvedic herbal
medicines for example every day the cows are given Neem leaves to start
their day. My father says” Happy Cows give the best milk”, adequate milk is
fed to the calves before milking and sending to customers, hence it is non
violence Milk. This year we played Holi with cows at farm, and it seemed
