The Smartest Witch of Her Age - Pramiti Nandi

THE SMARTEST WITCH OF HER AGE

Books and Cleverness! There are much more important things – friendship and bravery.”

“When are you going to get into your head? We’re in this together.”

~ Hermione Granger

Imagine it. A knife at your throat. Your friends are depending on you and at the moment you are depending on your friends. What would you do? My hero is Hermione Granger. She is one of the main primary characters in the Harry Potter books. She is brave, kind, courageous, and very smart. She proves that not only boys can do the impossible. She is the only girl to stand up to a Death Eater and gets all O’s (Hogwarts term for A) student and has saved Harry Potter’s life many, many times. She is a character who will do anything for what she believes in and loves and never backs down. She is an incredibly inspirational hero.

In the Harry Potter series, she plays a huge role in defeating Lord Voldemort. She stood up to countless of Voldemort’s followers and to one of the most powerful Dark Wizards, Bellatrix Lestrange. She was the only one who stuck with Harry all the time. She even left the ones she loves more than anything. She helped find Salazar Slytherin’s Locket, Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem, Nagini and Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup. Without her, Voldemort would not have even been close to being defeated.

Hermione Jean Granger was born on September 19, 1979 in England. She went to Hogwarts when she was 10 in 1989. When she finished her quest to find the Horcruxes she went back to finish school and worked in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement but before that worked on her organisation SPEW (The Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare) and worked in the Department of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. She married Ron Weasley and has two children, Rose and Hugo Weasley.

Hermione Granger inspires me because she was always the one who made Harry and Ron do their best. She proves that any girl can be a leader. The Harry Potter gave me something to believe in. Hermione gave me an inspiration. Hermione is what every girl wants to be. She is smart, brave kind, loving, committed, selfless and a leader. She had to wipe her parents’ memories to defeat Voldemort. Now I think that this is a true commitment. Harry might be chosen one but Hermione is a true hero.

Flowers are fool

As they try to rule

With their shiny colors,

But do they know?

That if they bent,

They will be smashed beneath a roller!

Sunflowers are yellow

With a stem very narrow

Honey bees feeding on them,

Bees suck nectar

From the flower's sector

Showering the honey rain with fame!

Some flowers are filled with jealousy

Red roses frown their eyes at Lily

Flowers gossip with each other so ridiculously,

And finally the time comes ,

When they are mourned peacefully!

Note from the Editor

Hello children! How are you all doing? We are going through a tough time aren't we. But take heart in that tough time comes only to ensure that you get the opportunity to grow stronger, wiser than ever before.

Jonaki has been hibernating for long! Sorry about that... I will not bore you giving excuses .Here is a bunch of fresh creations from your friends to make this lock down period more creative.

The feast starts with "A letter to Santa" written by Arunodoy Ray. Check it out , do you see a reflection of yourself ? I do :-)

Next comes Saptarshi Saha's painting "Waiting for the Boat" followed by a beautiful poem "An Ode to Music' by Pramiti Nandi. The illustration that you see with the poem , is also hers. "Our home in Space" written by Aranya Ghosal is about the wonders of the solar system. Read it to feel awestruck yet again about our only home!

Talking about home, have any of you heard stories about deserting one's home? for ever? Listen to what Todi Dutt Mazumder wants to share with you in her essay - "Leaving Mahulbon for ever"

"Our Farm" essayed by Ashmit Saha is all about having cows as friends! Yes, you heard me right!  Jojo, Kali, Rani, Jamuna, Gopal and Ganga. Where do they stay? What do they eat? Do they play Holi?

Aside from the above, there are paintings/drawings done in a variety of media, sketch pen, water color, pastel, color pencil by many of our painter bloggers.

So friends , enjoy your blog, stay home, take this opportunity to learn life skills like cooking, cleaning, washing and stay creative.

Happy blogging.

A Letter to Santa - Arunodoy Ray

 A Letter to Santa

   Author : Arunodoy Ray

Dear Santa,

I am writing this letter to ask for a Christmas gift. I would like it very much if you help the poor get gifts for Christmas. They are not living a life like me.I would say this search for a Christmas gift has been very confusing. At first I said, a game console, but you said, 'No'. Then I asked for a cycle, but there is no place to ride it. I have come to this decision at last that I will get a good set of headphones from you. I have not decided the model but I will tell that when I have decided. Also I should get two gifts from you as last year I did not get one. I will write another letter to you about my second gift.

I will be very grateful if you can give me those gifts but it is your duty and you have to.

Thanking you,
yours sincerely

Arunodoy Ray

DO NOT TAKE THE POOR CHILDREN PART TOO SERIOUSLY!
