My Little Friends,

Hope you are all doing just great, lapped up all the good matches the ICC cricket world cup had offered, and next, are waiting for the delicious Hilsa to adorn your dinner plates with!

The monsoon is here, so is the fun, puddle, Hilsa and last but not the least, Mr Virus. Keep drinking lots of water as that's what the doctor prescribes to keep Mr. Virus at bay. However when you quench your thirst, do remember that Lachhmi who lives in Chennai and who is of your age is, at this moment looking blankly at the dry well in front of her. She has a bucket in her hand, she is thirsty, she wants to draw some water from the well, but.... the well has dried up.

There are many like Lachhmi my friends who do not have access to drinking water, so do not waste even a drop !


When it rains , if possible, go to the terrace with a bucket and collect as much rain water as you can. It is great fun and you would have taken your first step in " Rainwater Harvesting ". Do not leave taps open anywhere in the house. Instead of showering use mugs and a bucket; plant as many trees as you can.


Now, before we browse through the latest pages of Jonaki, let us welcome our new bloggers in the team; Rupamanjori Das,  Saptarshi Saha, Ananya Kumari, Avishikta Banerjee and Satvik Dutta.

In the current issue of Jonaki, we have a bunch of beautiful paintings and drawings in pastel, pen and acrylic. Along with these we have a clay pot to showcase! This has been made by the budding potters Sayari, Sunayana and Ahona !

In the paintings section, all of you showed commendable skills and we spent sleepless nights to pick the Best Bloggers! Good job all of you !
