Hello Friends ,

Hope all of you are in the best of spirits and sailing through the exam season .

Enjoyed the month of February?

We have had both festive and sad moments this month. The festive moments were those when all of you were enjoying yourself on your No-Study day during the Saraswati Puja. The sad moments were those when we all woke up to the news of the death of nearly 50 of our soldiers in Pulwama, Kashmir.

Let us pray that love wins and hate retreats defeated!

Coming back to our blog and bloggers, we have beautiful paintings/sketches on display this month.

In "The Lady in Blue" and "The Yellow Deer" Rohit has showed commendable skills in drawing stylized figures filled with solid colours more like our traditional "Potochitra" made immortal by its famous exponent Jamini Roy.

"The Hut by The River" drawn by our new guest blogger Sohom Noshkor is very pleasing to the eye. The principal strength of this picture is its composition. The hut, the river, the trees, the huts in perspective make for a nice, quiet village scene..
Doraemon painted by Sohom must have got a good score from you all as it so looks like the actual character many of you are fond of.

"The House" by Reyansh Saha is the "Re-Post of the Month" for February. Any entry in Jonaki which is special in any aspect will be the candidate for a Re-Post in future posts of Jonaki :-) Reyansh's "The House" drawn in bold black lines has got a life of it's own! It has gathered words of praise from many viewers of Jonaki!

There are other gems too shining in our Jonaki February post..

While "Jai Hind" painted by our guest blogger Saronik Chakrabarti has got a beautiful poster-like quality with an imaginative design, the pencil sketches done by Tannishtha Dutta , another guest blogger of Jonaki, depicts day to day to life in a village with well drawn human figures and nice pencil shading.

Aranya's ( Ruku ) picture "The Park When Nobody Is Around" has been colored in a special decorative manner and reminds one of Georges-Pierre Seurat, the post-impressionist French artist who devised the painting technique pointillism in which small colored dots are used to make images.

It is very difficult to choose the "Best Bloggers of the Month" ( Alternately the Best Entries of the Month) as each one of you are writing/drawing/painting so well !! And I see that each one of you will eventually be the "Best Blogger" someday.

For this month we chose Saronik and Tannishtha as the "Best Blogger of the month" ! Congratulations, Saronik and Tannishtha!!

So friends, if you want to see your creations lighting up the pages of Jonaki please ask your parents to send across your stories/poems/travelogues( Written in English/Bengali/Hindi),drawing, painting, photographs, handicrafts to the email jonakijhikimiki@gmail.com

Happy Blogging!!
